The questions I hear first

A ceramic coating is a liquid protection for gloss, easier washing and resistance to UV and chemicals. PPF is a thicker clear film that physically stops stone chips. Ceramic protects against the environment, film against damage – for new cars the best answer is often a combination of both.

Interior detailing takes one day, paint correction one to two days, ceramic coating two to three days, PPF three to five days. The duration is confirmed in your quote and I stick to it. You collect the car when the work is truly done – I never rush at the expense of the result.

A new car, gladly – it is the best moment, while the paint is still flawless. Freshly repainted panels must fully cure first; we usually wait 30 to 60 days, depending on the body shop. Call me and we will arrange the timing.

Everything listed under each service is included: preparation, labour, materials and the final inspection. I am not a VAT payer, so the quoted price is final, with no hidden extras. A surcharge is only possible by prior agreement, e.g. for heavily neglected cars.

Of course – the inspection and the quote are always free. The workshop is in Dol pri Trebnjem, two minutes off the A2 motorway, 20 minutes from Novo mesto and 45 minutes from Ljubljana. Tell me in the form what bothers you; the condition of the paint I assess at the inspection, under proper lighting.

It depends on the number of stages. A single-stage polish removes up to 60% of defects – light swirl marks and dullness. Two-stage correction removes up to 85%, three-stage up to 95%. Scratches you can feel with a fingernail go below the clear coat, and polishing will not fully remove those.

Before polishing I measure the clear coat on every panel with a gauge, so I never polish blind. On cars with thin or previously polished paint I adapt the process and tell you beforehand – clear coat can only be removed once. I would rather leave a small defect than take the paint to its limit.

Ceramic coating starts at €500 and includes a single-stage polish before application. The final price depends on the size of the car and the condition of the paint – neglected paint needs more preparation. You receive an exact quote after a free inspection: paint only shows its true condition under proper lighting.

Yes. A coating or film seals in the condition of the paint – whatever stays under the protection stays visible for years. That is why I always polish the paint at least one stage before application. It adds to the price, but it is the only way to protect paint that is genuinely flawless.

Manufacturers do not publish a fixed lifespan in years for these coatings – how long one lasts depends on how the car is cared for. Washing habits matter most: by hand or with a touchless pressure washer, never brush car washes. You receive written instructions and the warranty conditions at handover, and a free check-up after one month.

No – this is the most common misconception. Ceramic increases resistance to micro-scratches and makes washing easier, but it does not stop stone chips or damage from careless washing. Only PPF prevents physical damage. If motorway gravel worries you, film is the right choice.

Best by hand with the two-bucket method, or at a self-service bay with a pressure lance. Avoid brush car washes – they etch swirls into the paint even through protection. For the first 14 days after application, do not wash the car with strong detergents; heavy soiling such as bird droppings should still be removed straight away.

Modern top-tier films carry up to a 12-year manufacturer warranty on manufacturing defects, which include yellowing, cracking, blistering and delamination. The films that yellowed on older cars were an older material; today's are polyurethane. Correct installation with wrapped edges is what matters, so I do it panel by panel.

Yes. PPF is designed to be removed without a trace from factory paint – important at resale or when replacing a panel. A ceramic coating is not removed; it wears down over time and is renewed with a light polish and re-application.

Seats and carpets go through a hot-water extractor, so the dirt is pulled from inside the upholstery rather than wiped off the top. How far a stain retreats depends on the material and how long it has been in the fabric – if something will not come out, I tell you at the inspection, not after the work.

No. The car comes back fresh, not perfumed – no harsh scents and no masking problems with fragrance. If moisture or an odour source remains in the car, I tell you. The headliner is cleaned carefully so the adhesive never soaks, which is a common cause of a damp smell.
